THE ROMANSE PARTNERSHIP

The ROMANSE partnership project comprises three local authorities: Hampshire County Council, Southampton City Council and Portsmouth City Council.

Hampshire County Council

Based in Monument House, Winchester, the Hampshire ITS Group operates a control room featuring a large number of CCTV screens with links to fibre (real time) and dial-up (ISDN) cameras . The team has access to a number of city centre, trunk road and motorway feeds from around the county.

Numerous operators monitor various systems (detailed below) from 7am - 7pm Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm Saturday.

Southampton City Council

Based at Town Quay, Southampton (the original location of the ROMANSE project), the Traffic Systems team also has a control room featuring a large number of CCTV screens with links to fibre (real time) and dial-up (ISDN) cameras around the City and parts of the M3/M27 network. The team has access to a number of city centre, trunk road and motorway feeds from around the county.

Numerous operators monitor various systems (detailed below) from 7am - 7pm on weekdays, 9am - 5pm on Saturdays and 10am - 4pm on Sundays, as well as during major events or periods of heightened traffic volumes.

Portsmouth City Council

  • Traffic Signal Fault reporting and maintenance
