Stopwatch Bus Information System
Stopwatch2 is a county-wide Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI) system that provides up-to-the-minute bus arrival times directly to selected bus stops around Hampshire. The information is displayed on an TFT flat panel display in the bus shelter itself.
The system works through a wireless technology called GPRS which allows the equipped bus to broadcast its location to our control centre where the bus is tracked. Bus arrival times are then calculated and sent out to the relevant in-shelter information displays. Information is also available via SMS text message and on the internet.
