ROMANSE

This page provides information on connecting your mobile device (phone, Personal Digital Assistant or Smartphone) to mROMANSE.

This service is has been developed in association with Winchester Miracles.

Connecting to mROMANSE offers the following benefits:

• Live traffic camera imagery
• Live car park occupancy information
• Access to our latest travel bulletins

... all on the move.

Steps necessary to connect your device to our Mobile Service are different depending on which mobile device you have.

Mobile Phones

1. Connect to one of your phones data services (i.e. WAP, GPRS or 2G/3G)
2. Launch any internet page (launching a page may automatically connect to a data service)
3. Find the area where any URL or internet address (for example www.google.com) can be entered. Your phone may have an 'options' menu where this can be selected
4. Type www.romanse.org.uk/mobile and then confirm
5. You should now be connected.

Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs)

Personal Digital Assistants (such as the Palm or HP iPAQ) come in many different flavours and can connect to the internet in many ways, for example:

• Mobile Phone Network data services, such as GSM, GPRS or 2G/3G
• Short range connectivity, such as Bluetooth or Infra Red
• Wireless LAN connectivity, with the use of a wireless LAN card (802.11a/b/g)

We cannot provide instructions for all of these connectivity methods as they vary from device to device so the following generalised steps should be followed if assistance is necessary:

1. Connect to your data service (see list above)
2. Launch your Pocket Browser (Pocket Internet Explorer, AvantGo or Netscape)
3. Enter the address hampshire.romanse.org.uk/mobile in the address field and confirm
4. You should now be connected.

Smart Phones

As smart phones are a combination of the above, follow the instructions for PDAs (above) to connect to mROMANSE.
